New Friends

Last Saturday I volunteered for Sir John to tour Blind Children at the manila zoo. At first I really don't know what to do, but as I cracked corny jokes on my sister (Blind Kid assign to me) I gain some confidence.

Photographing for this type of event is harder than I first thought. You must be at focus every time but must keep on communicating and must have some sense of humor, so that they will not get bored. At the end of the activity I was glad that I made someone Smile.....

Starting Line(Kath With Maricor Feeling the Small Horse)
Maricor Smiling After Feeling the Ears of the Small Horse
Albert Smiling While Riding the Horse
Maricor with Camille (Best Friends)
Maricor With Mother Cora Feeling the Pig
Holding Each other at the hanging bridge
Maricor and Camille Laughing at the bridge
Maricor with the Albino Python
Camille telling Maricor it feels like "CALAMAY"
Best Friends Laughing
Mother Cora Telling Maricor not to be afraid of the bird
Mother Cora Telling Maricor that Camille is holding the bird
Maricor Laughing Why does the bird has its Horns hehehe..
Maricor and Mother Cora.. .At Last "Di sya natakot" hehe
Pretty Czarina Holding the Crock.... Telling "This is my baby..."
Ostrich's Neck
Best Friends
Sir John Giving Maricor some Peanuts
Camille Asking why does the elephant knows how to falsetto

A day at the Manila Zoo

Last night I went out with some friends because Roy Kim, a korean friend, invited us to join him test his new Lens, after dinner the data center operator of the company where I am working for called because there was a problem in one of our branches so I went back to the office. After fixing the problem I visit the Pipho Forum and read some post about not knowing what to buy next.

IMHO Buying a new camera gadget needs a lot of decision making because we need to elimite buying the wrong equipment and not knowing what to buy is just the same with compulsive buying. The only time to buy an equipment is when, several times you cannot do the composition you want simply because you have the wrong lens or You dont have the equipment.

In short Not knowing what to buy means you still hav'nt used the full potential of your equipment. Like what my friends and masters at PiPho suggest, Attend a good workshop and Shoot Shoot and Shoot and after that you'll Know what you need....

Here's some of my other shots at manila zoo last saturday using a 40D and a Kit Lens...

Back to Manila Zoo After 2 decades

Last Sunday we went to Manila Zoo, Its 2 decades since i last went there... It was only last night that i have time Cropping and adjusting the levels of my shots....

Here are some lessons that i've learned

1. I finally tried shooting at f3.5 apperture and with a zoom lense, it actually remove the Bars from the cages (see Pictures Below)... Thanks Manual hehehe...

2. Shooting at burst mode when not using a tripod actually helps in getting sharper images, If for example i have 7 shots, more or less 3 will be sharper than the others....

3. Patience is a virture.... If you dont have patience you cant get what you need... Look at the owl... it took me almost 15 minutes waiting for it to look into me...

4. Smile is your secret weapon. If you want to get shots of children or people you dont know. Learn how to smile and you'll be surprised you'll make new friends.....

Here are my favorite shots.....
